GFCRS evaluates brokers against published membership standards, issues membership certificates that anyone can check, and gives investors a free, structured route to resolve disputes with member firms.
What we do
We assess forex and CFD firms against published membership standards covering authorisation, client money, transparency, complaint handling and conduct. Firms that meet the standards are admitted as members, reviewed every year and issued a certificate that anyone can verify online.
Read the Membership StandardsInvestors can bring an unresolved complaint about a member firm to GFCRS free of charge. Our case handlers review the evidence from both sides, work towards an agreed solution and, where that is not possible, record a reasoned outcome.
How the complaint process worksFor investors
Complain to your broker first and give it a fair chance to respond. Keep copies of everything you send and receive.
If the firm does not resolve it, file your complaint with GFCRS online with your supporting documents. You receive a case reference immediately.
A case handler checks eligibility, examines the evidence from you and the firm, and may ask either side for more information.
We work towards an agreed settlement. If none is reached, a reasoned outcome is recorded and either side may ask for it to be reviewed.
Filing a complaint with GFCRS is free. GFCRS will never ask you for a fee, a deposit or a “release payment” to handle your case.
Member firms
Independence
Complaint decisions are taken by case handlers and an Independent Review Committee who have no role in membership sales or fee collection. Membership fees are accounted for separately and are never linked to the outcome of any case. Anyone involved in a case must declare and step away from any conflict of interest.
GFCRS is an independent private organisation. It is not a government body, financial regulator, ombudsman or statutory compensation scheme. GFCRS membership is not a licence or regulatory authorisation and does not guarantee a firm's conduct or an investor's funds.
